Young Referees Conference 2024

Young Referee Conference

We are delighted to announce our inaugural conference event for Young Referees!

Alongside our BBFA Youth Network, we are delighted to announce our inaugural conference event for Young Referees!

The conference is designed to give young referees aged 23 and under an opportunity to network with other like-minded individuals and receive some very exciting CPD which will undoubtedly help you on your refereeing journey.

The event will take place on Sunday 21st July at University of Reading’s Sports Park, RG6 6DJ, 11am - 4pm.

We have a very inspiring day lined up, with sessions being delivered by BBFA Referee Development Officer, Adam Parry, and the BBFA Youth Network who will be joined by special guests. These include our Young Referees Network Ambassador and one of the youngest Level 4 match officials in the country, Manny Chandwani, and English Football League Assistant Referee, Kevin Howick.

The day will include both practical and indoor workshops, exploring Assistant Refereeing, Whistle Tone & Card Technique, Effective Communication and Misconduct Report Writing, all of which are incredibly important skills that referees need to possess. There will also be a Q&A at the end of the day, which will allow you to ask questions to more experienced referees to gain tips & tricks to help you progress in your refereeing careers.

This event is a perfect opportunity for any young referee to continue their development and learn some very valuable skills which can aid you both on and off the pitch. We are so excited to see you there!
