Safeguarding Manager

Location: This is a hybrid role with opportunities to work remotely from the Berks & Bucks FA office (Milton Park, OX14 4SB), home and around the County.
Salary: Band 3 (£29,785 - £36,771 ) per annum, dependent on experience.
Hours:
35 hours per week. (Requirement to work evenings and weekends in line with the demands of the role.)
Contract: Full time - Permanent


The opportunity

We are looking for someone to lead our work safeguarding children and vulnerable adults across the Football areas of Berkshire & Buckinghamshire – in line with legislation and FA policy and procedures. This position reports directly to the Head of Governance and works closely with colleagues and stakeholders across all areas of the organisation.  

The successful candidate must be approachable, a team player and have a child-centred approach as well as the ability to maintain this perspective when carrying out the role. 
 

Main responsibilities 

•  Manage concerns and referrals relating to children and adults at risk in accordance with legislative frameworks and FA regulations, providing guidance and support to Clubs and Leagues.  
•  Liaise with statutory agencies and The FA’s Safeguarding Case Management Team as necessary. 
•  Support and upskill volunteer Welfare Officers, providing regular training across the County in person and online. 
•  Oversee and manage Club and League compliance with FA Safeguarding qualifications, including line management responsibilities. 
•  Co-ordinate CFA safeguarding visits, spot checks/audits on clubs throughout the season to ensure they are compliant with the records they have submitted to the CFA.
